Jackson De Toni is Economist with a Master Degree in Urban and Regional Planning at Federal University of Rio Grande do Sul (1994) with emphasis in Transportation Planning Stated Preferences Modeling. He is doctor on Political Science, by the University of Brasilia (UnB) with focus on business-state relation (BSR), about public-private relationship in brazilian industrial policy. He was a professor of economics at the University Lutheran of Brazil (Rio Grande do Sul) and the course of political science at UniDF in Brasilia.
He has worked at Technical Planning at Department for Coordination and Planning of Rio Grande do Sul, where he was Director-General and Vice-Secretary from 1999 to 2002. He was professor of UFRGS (Economics) and the State University of Rio Grande do Sul (Participatory Strategic Planning). He has extensive management experience in the area of public policy development, monitoring and evaluating projects. He has published articles on strategic planning and governance in the public sector in Brazil and outside. It was special advisor to the Presidency of Brazil (2004/06), responsible for monitoring & evaluation of strategic projects of Industrial Policy and Technology.
He is a professor of Strategic Planning of the National School of Public Administration (ENAP). He was a member of the Board and Project Manager of the Brazilian Agency for Industrial Development (ABDI). Was Manager of Management and Planning Agency for the Promotion of Exports and Investments – APEX-Brazil. He is currently a Project Specialist headcount of the Brazilian Agency for Industrial Development under the Ministry of Development, Industry and Foreign Trade (MDIC).
