Project Short Intro:
The SWAN program is an initiative aligned with the strategy of the Brazilian Government and the international community for alleviating the plight of Venezuelan migrants who have entered Brazil because of the devastating economic and social conditions in Venezuela. The program runs for twelve (12) months and its scope of activities spans four USAID OFDA sectors: 1. Economic Recovery and Market Systems, 2. Logistics Support, 3. Shelter and Settlements, and 4. WASH. These include six subsectors: 1. New Livelihoods Development, 2. Transport (Air/Land/Sea), 3. Settlements, 4. Shelter and Settlements Non-Food Items, 5. Hygiene Promotion, and 6. WASH Non-Food items.
Although the program activities have been implemented in the cities of Manaus, Salvador, Belo Horizonte, Curitiba, Porto Alegre and Boa Vista, other geographic areas have been identified during the program implementation.
